On 5th of January between 11:46 and 12:32 our service was not accessible for our customers. 

 

The reason for the disruption was that our firewall was temporary down due to heavy network DDoS attacks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack). a denial of service attack. As soon as we got information about the disruption our network provider started working on the problem and it was solved shortly thereafter. 

 

DDos attacks happen from time to time unfortunately since they are done by hackers that seek to destroy and make havoc. The only thing you can do as a service provider is to create as good protection as possible for these kind of events. We have a built in DDos protection mechanism in our firewall that our network provider manages for us. This means that they can resolve these types of attacks fairly quickly.

 

Disruptions to our service of any kind are very unfortunate and we are very sorry that this have affected our customers and the inconvenience caused!
