For some users of VisionProject there was a service disruption somewhere between 05:45 and 6:55 AM (CET/GMT +2) on 17th of July
The problem was that some users could not store changes or new data in the system. When they tried this they encountered the following error: Error: DataAccessException: Cause exception:com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException".
The reason for this was full disks for the server instance that the customers were using. Our operations team actually received a warning yesterday afternoon that the disks for one of the servers were getting full, and after this the disk size was expanded according to our normal routines. Unfortunately, the normal size expansion for the disks weren't enough and we still ran out of space much this morning. As soon as we got an alert about this error, our technicians started to work on fixing the problem, which was resolved at about 06:50 AM (UTC/GMT +2).
After a root cause analysis, we have found that the reason for us running out of disk space in this case was that there has been an increasing number of customers on the specific server that are generating an exceptional amount of data. We will look into this problem further and make sure this problem will not happen again in the future
This problem should naturally not be able to happen, we are very sorry for this problem and any inconvenience caused.
