VisionProject 6.0 was released on the 14th of February 2010


See below for details about the new features and improvements in this release. If you have any questions or need some clarification in some of the areas, then just add a comment to the KB-article or send us an email.



Issue management


Improved permission on issues, comments, documents and forums

You can now set permissions on individual users. This means that the following access levels are available:

  • Everyone
  • Just me
  • User groups and/or users


The permission section on Issues has been moved and is now placed below the issue details section.

Enhancements to the subscription functionality

Ability to add one or more User group as a issue subscriber.



Ability to update all active links in a chain

A sample is the easiest way to explain this new feature.

  1. We have three issues: IssueA, IssueB and IssueC.
  2. IssueA has an active link to IssueB
  3. IssueB has an active link to IssueC

When updating IssueA you will get a question if you would like to update IssueB, starting from VisionProject 6.0 you will now be able to update IssueC as well.

Email ticket system


Support for HTML in emails, with inline images

You can now use HTML format in the email replies to your customers, as well as reading in the emails in HTML format.


If the email has an inline image, it will be shown directly in the correct position when viewing the issue description or viewing the conversation in "Issue History".


You can also specify a personal signature in HTML format. You do that in your personal "Profile' that is available in the upper right corner.


Please note that you have to enable HTML format in the Email ticket system configuration for this to take effect!




Support for German, Czech, French, Polish and Norwegian languages

We are improving our language support with a few new languages! French will be available in the next couple of weeks and then Spanish will come in the near future.


A special thanks go to the customers that have helped us with the translation!


The Web Service API is now available on the hosted version

The Web Service API has been opened up for hosted customers as well. You can view the API here:


You need a Web Service API key to start using the API so if you are interrested, don't hesitate to contact us at!



New Web Service methods

New Web Service methods in this release are:

  • CRUD methods for Customer
  • addComment (on issue)
  • getDocumentWithContentForIssue (get one single document, including content)
  • getAllIssueEventTypes
  • findIssueHistory
