Installing and configuring subversion isn't that hard or time-consuming. If you are not using subversion already in your organization you should study how to get started. There are a lot of good resources online. You will need basic knowledge about subversion or other VCS (version control system) in your organization if you want to keep track of your source code or resources in your projects.
If you only need a simple VCS for your normal files (such as word, excel, ppt) then our built in versioning system for our documents/files probably is sufficient.
You can find information about SVN here: http://subversion.tigris.org/
In a development environment we normally recommend the use of the following free componens:
All these components can be integrated with VisionProject
If you don't want to install and manage subversion yourselves you can an external hosting provider such as www.beanstalkapp.com and in this case you will also get a web based viewer as well.
