How do I change the appearance of the HTML notification mails sent by the system? (Example: Fix for black background) Export knowledge base Export     SubscribeSubscribe      Show article info

You want to edit the HTML notification template settings, and set your own custom values

Note: The notification templates are set in the account settings and are used for all projects. There are basically two sets of templates, one for text and one for HTML. Which one is used depends on how the individual email ticket system is configured.

To customize your own HTML templates:

  1. Go to General > Settings > Other configurations > Notification templates.
  2. Make sure the "Send HTML notification" is checked (it should be if you use HTML notifications)
  3. Select a notification template.
  4. Press the radio button "Use specified template below". This should open the template editor.
  5. You can edit text etc. directly in the normal editor, but for HTML code, click the "HTML" option in the editor. This opens the HTML code in its own pop-up window.

    Edit notification html

  6. Here you can do things like changing the background color or change the table width, et.c. Make your changes and close the dialog with "Update", but remember to click on "Save" afterwards!
Be aware of that the code sometimes will have to be changed in multiple parts of the code, for example background-colour. The easiest way to do this is to press ctrl + f and type in "background-color" to look through the entire text for parts containing this phrase. Change the code accordingly.
  7. Repeat this for all templates, if needed.

For example, if you want to change the black background color of the email, you can do it like this:

In step 6, find the css section in the top, and in the "body { ... ... }" paragraph, there is a row reading "background-color:#333333". (6 digits)

Change the hex number to some other value, like #ffffff (count 6 f's) for white color.
