  Set up second Apache Tomcat Server 

 

  • Copy the original Apache Tomcat directory to the same directory level and rename the copy to something appropriate. As an example copy c:\apache-tomcat7 to c:\apache-tomcat7-2.
  • Open a command prompt and navigate to: c:\apache-tomcat7-2\bin\ and run: service install THE_SERVICE_NAME  (example: service install tomcat7-2).

 

Configure

  • Note: Make sure you have a copy of the original Tomcat instance. Copy (from tomcat webapps directory) WEB-INF\internal_docs\installed version\configuration\clustered\tomcat\server1.xml to c:\apache-tomcat7\conf\server.xml (the original installed tomcat instance).
  • Copy (from tomcat webapps directory) WEB-INF\internal_docs\installed version\configuration\clustered\tomcat\server2.xml to c:\apache-tomcat7-2\conf\server.xml (the second installed tomcat instance).
  • You also neet to make sure the ehcache is configured properly between the servers for unicast

 

 

  Verify

  • From services in windows. Start the original tomcat. Open a browser and enter http://localhost:8080/. You should see the VisionProject Login page.
  • From services in windows. Start the second tomcat. Open a browser and enter http://localhost:8083/. You should see the VisionProject Login page.
