Field description - Reporter Company
The Reporter Company field represents the company that the end user/reporter of the issue belongs to. This field is always set to the company of the reporter.
Default name: Reporter Company
Terminology variations: None
In-Use: Optional. This field can be set to be used in the issue field configuration.
Mandatory: Optional. This field can be set as mandatory, but need not be.
Data type: A Company, which should always be set to the company that the reporter (set in the Reporter issue field) belongs to.
Access restrictions: (Default) "No access" when created (this field should automatically be set to the company of the reporter, which is often the issue creator, but not always). Editing: "Read" for all normal users, and "No access" for support users.
Reporter: This issue field is dependent on the Reporter field - it should always be set to the company that the Reporter belongs to.
Affected by these settings:
General > Settings > Issue configurations > Issue rules.
Reporter Company can be used in issue rules, either as a criterion, or being set in the rule action.
The Reporter Company field tells you which company/customer the email/issue/task/request is coming from, even if someone else created the issue for the Reporter (and set the Reporter field manually).
