 2013‑09‑27 ‑ Email service disruption Export knowledge base Export     SubscribeSubscribe      Show article info

During the morning of the 27th of September between 06:00 and 10:00 (CET/UTC+1) approximately we had a disruption in the mail importer service that affected some of our customers. As a result of this emails from some of our customers email boxes weren't imported into VisionProject. 

 

After analyzing this problem in detail we have found that the reason that this problem occurred in the first place was the planned maintenance job that was executed by our network provider during the night of the 27th. More info on this is available here....

 

For some reason the normal monitoring system didn't pick this up since the mail-service was up and running and only some customers were affected. Our staff didn't get a warning about this until we received an incident report from our customers.

 

This disruption is unfortunate, should not have happened and we apologize to our affected customers! As a result of this disruption we are now analyzing our monitoring jobs and will make improvements to make sure that this problem can not happen again.
