 I get an error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Parameter count exceeded allowed maximum: 512 Export knowledge base Export     SubscribeSubscribe      Show article info

The error java.lang.IllegalStateException: Parameter count exceeded allowed maximum: 512 indicates that you don't have the correct version of Tomcat installed on your linux server..

Please install the latest 7.0 version of Tomcat from www.apache.org. Move the webapp from your old version of Tomcat and try again.

We do not recommend that you use a Tomcat version that has been included in your Linux distribution (Red Hat, Debian). However, it is also possible to solve this particular problem by following the steps below:

Add the following row to you  tomcat6.conf file:

# RH KB 100383
# Override default max parameter count of 512
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Dorg.apache.tomcat.util.http.Parameters.MAX_COUNT=10000"

Or you can also try the following:

Add the attribute: maxParameterCount=-1 into your connector tag in the server.xml file, see below:

<Connector executor="tomcatThreadPool"

               port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1"

               connectionTimeout="20000"

               redirectPort="8443"

       maxParameterCount="-1" />
